Located in the serene environment of Kampung Jelebu Tengah, Nam Theng Kopitiam invites you to step into a quintessential Malaysian coffee shop experience. This charming café, reminiscent of the traditional kopitiams of yesteryears, is a culinary haven for those seeking authentic flavors and a slice of community life. With its rustic decor and warm ambiance, the kopitiam serves as a gathering spot for locals and travelers alike, encouraging a friendly atmosphere where cultural diversity is celebrated.
The menu at Nam Theng Kapitiam is a delightful exploration of classic Malaysian breakfast staples. A must-try is their nasi lemak, which boasts fragrant rice, rich sambal, and a medley of sides that embody the essence of this beloved dish. Also on the menu is the famous mee hailam, though be sure to arrive early, as it's a popular choice among patrons and can sell out fast. For a lighter bite, their roti canai steals the show with its flaky layers and perfect crispness, ideal for dipping into rich curry. And, of course, no visit would be complete without a cup of their highly praised kopi o or Hainan tea, both of which delight the senses with their rich flavor profiles—much better than those found in the bustling Klang Valley, as many customer reviews attest.
The ambiance of Nam Theng Kopitiam feels like a warm hug; it’s a spacious yet cozy haven where the chatter of regulars mingles with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and toasting bread. Whether you're grabbing a quick breakfast before heading out or taking your time to enjoy a leisurely brunch, the welcoming vibe here encourages you to savor each moment. Various customers have remarked on the calm atmosphere, especially on weekdays, which allows for a peaceful dining experience, as you share the space with a mix of locals from different backgrounds appreciating good food together.

We arrived at 11AM, the nasi lemak, mee hailam has sold out. The roti canai is off for the day. It has a typical setup just like other coffee shop that you can find in the rural area across Malaysia. The coffee, cham, hainan tea is authentic, tastes is better than the well known kopitiam in Klang valley. The toast bread is ordinary, but serves well as hunger satisfying food before we continue our journey.

It was around 1.30pm on Apr 18, 2022. A day before the Nuzul Al-Quran holiday. Most probably due to this, there aren't any shops or food left at this area, until we found this shop. Luckily they still served drinks and roti baker which filled our stomach.

I was supprise the amount of muslims eating in this shop. I can never see this in a chinese restaurant. The kopi o and kopi is awesome. Nasi lemak is served there by muslims and roti canai also. Great atmosphere of kampung style coffee shop. The best part is the toilet is elevated higher just like any other kampung styled.

We went on a weekday, so not crowded. Only some regular customers around (Malays, Indians & Chinese uncles). Enjoyed a peaceful & relaxing ambience in this muhibbah kopitiam. Hainanese kopi, half-boiled egg & toast bread were nice! Nasi lemak bungkus from the Makcik stall was nice too!
